Congratulations P.S.122 Q 5th graders! 

We the People: Project Citizen 

P.S.122 Q 5th and 8th grade students participate in the We the People: Project Citizen national program. Project Citizen is a public policy and civic education program that gives every student the tools to research and design a public policy in their community. Most importantly students learn steps in order to have their voices heard within the government at all levels; local, state, and national. This year under the direction of Ms. Marketos, class 5-510 and class 5-512 won the Project Citizen 2018 National Showcase “EXCEPTIONAL” second place award. Our topic was “PIPE UP FOR PIPING PLOVERS”. Piping plovers are an endangered species threatened throughout America. They live on our New York sandy beaches.
