A Message from the Principal

September 5th, 2024

Dear PS122 Community,

It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Interim Acting Principal of PS122. For the past nineteen years I have worked as an educator in the New York City Public Schools as a teacher, dean, athletic coach, and assistant principal. In these roles I have amassed experience working with students and their families ranging from grades PreK - 12. I will work hard and draw upon all this experience to lead our school and continue the century long legacy of success established at PS122.

As a leader I believe that the two most critical components for success are collaboration and communication. Teachers, parents, support staff, and administrators all have a significant role to play in the successful operation of a school. By fostering a culture of collaboration for all stakeholders, our school will be able to continue to provide a quality educational experience that will prepare all students academically and socially to succeed in a world that is changing at a faster pace than ever before.

In addition to working with our staff and students, I am excited to continue working with the community. My door is always open, and I welcome your positive contributions to our school. Please feel free to call or email with any questions, concerns, and feedback that you may have as the school year progresses.

I can say without hesitation that it is an honor and a privilege to serve as the Principal I.A. of PS122 and I look forward to making this school year at PS122 the best one yet.

Sincerely,

Michael Pascarelli

Principal I.A.
